Riding the BONG-BONG TRAIN
Taipingshan retains its old mountain logging railway—the Maosing Line—and has two platforms, at Taipingshan and Maosing. The rail line is 3 kilometers long and takes about 20 minutes to traverse.
Jianqing Historic Trail
Walk through towering cypress forests and breathtaking mountain scenery on one of Taiwan’s most beautiful forest trails. Once part of a historic logging railway, the trail offers a peaceful journey into the heart of Taipingshan’s natural beauty.

Epic mountain and perfect hot spring

This was my first visit to Taipingshan and I really liked it. The forest was beautiful and there were lots of nice views along the way. It was a bit colder than I expected, so bring something warm! After spending time in the mountains, going to Jioujhihze Hot Spring was perfect. We were tired when we got back to Taipei, but it was a good kind of tired.
Unexpected highlight of my trip

I originally booked this because my friend wanted to go, and I honestly wasn't expecting much. Turns out I loved it! The mountain views at Taipingshan were beautiful, and the temperature was cooler than Taipei. We laughed a lot trying to take photos in the forest. Then we went to Jioujhihze Hot Spring, which was exactly what we needed after the afternoon. One of those days that ends with everyone sleeping on the way back
My favorite day in Taiwan so far

I've been in Taiwan for about a week and this was probably my favorite day so far. Taipingshan reminded me a little of home, but the scenery still felt very different. I loved the misty mountain atmosphere and the huge trees. We had enough free time to take photos and enjoy the surroundings. The hot spring was a really relaxing finish. Definitely bring comfortable shoes!
Best weekend getaway

I booked this tour with a friend and had a really nice time. Taipingshan was definitely the main highlight for me. We had several hours to enjoy the area and take photos. By the afternoon we were getting a little tired, so the stop at Jioujhihze Hot Spring was perfect. We arrived back in Taipei in the evening and went straight for dinner! Would definitely recommend this if you have one free day.

I came to Taiwan with my parents and wanted to take them somewhere different from the usual city attractions. Taipingshan was a good choice. The mountain scenery was really nice and the air felt so fresh. My parents especially enjoyed the hot spring. The whole day was quite long, but having everything arranged made it much easier for us.

I had a free Friday in Taipei and decided to book this mountain tour. Honestly, it's one of the best-run day trips I’ve experienced. The drive from Taipei Station was smooth, and getting to Taipingshan by 11:00 AM gave us the perfect mountain light for photography. The ancient railway trail shrouded in fog looks incredible on camera. Ending the day at the Jioujhihze hot springs to wash off the hike was genius. Back in Taipei by 7 PM with plenty of time for night plans. Brilliant itinerary!

This 1-day tour is brilliantly curated. The transition from the crisp, cool mountain air of Taipingshan to the soothing, mineral-rich hot springs at Jioujhihze was the ultimate healing experience. "I am so glad I booked this! If you think Taipei is just about night markets and buildings, you need to see Taipingshan. The ancient hiking trail feels like walking through a mystical fairytale forest with all the fog and green moss. It’s absolutely breathtaking and a paradise for hiking lovers. After the hike, the hot springs were pure heaven—my legs felt so refreshed afterward. Our driver was punctual and super friendly. Do not hesitate to book this.

As a solo traveler, I was worried about navigating the mountains on my own, so I booked this day tour. It was the best decision! Taking this tour on a Friday was a brilliant choice—we completely missed the heavy weekend crowds. Taipingshan is absolutely stunning, feels like a fairytale. But my absolute favorite part was Hot Springs! The water is incredibly smooth, and the geothermal egg-boiling was such a fun, unique experience. Everything from the transportation to the timing was perfectly organized. It’s the easiest way to experience Taiwan's wild nature in a single day.
